How do you calm sensitive teeth?

I have very, very sensitive teeth. It's difficult for me to eat even fruit like grapes without pain. Anything cold I have to prepare myself mentally to eat. I use Sensodyne, it helps a little. Is there anything else maybe the dentist could do?

How do you calm sensitive teeth?
There is a process called Desensitization that the dentist (or hygeinist) can do, which can help. If you whiten your teeth with an at home whitening kit, or even if you had it done in the office recently, that can cause dryness in the teeth, which is what causes sensitivity. If the sensodyne isn't working, see your dentist, especially if it has been an ongoing problem for some time. They should be able to either do something to help, or recommend a better product for you to use at home.
Reply:I have sensitive teeth due to a gum recession. Using Sensodyne REALLY helps but it takes a while. I used it for 2 full weeks and now my teeth where the root is exposed it completely numb now. It is normal to take a while. However, do you know the reason why you have sensitive teeth. Gum recession is ok. Do not brush your teeth as hard. However, if you have a chipped tooth or something, it needs to be fixed. Just wanted you to be aware.
Reply:Ora Gel has a product that is supposed to be much that the sensitive toothpaste products.
