Whenever i eat lots of green mangoes, my teeth always gets sensitive and it starts to hurt whenever i chew hard food. How do i get rid of it? And nobody say don't eat mangoes cause i love mangoes especially if they aren't ripe yet. Even if i only eat one, it hurts after a few slices. I don't have bad teeth or gums and i tried using sensodine toothpaste for a month before but it didn't work. My teeth just got more sensitive. How do i fix the sensitivity of my teeth to green mangoes?
How do i get rid of sensitive teeth when eating green mangoes?
Try chewing on aluminum foil both before and after.
Reply:i dont know how u can fix that ! but i can tell u that green mangoes have many allergens including urushiol and some people are allergic to it. try eating them with sugar or salt+chilly powder.

Cure For Sensitive Teeth?
I get really bad pain and tooth ache because my teeth are so sensitive. Any toothpaste, mouthwash (etc...) you can recommend?
Cure For Sensitive Teeth?
Sensodyn is really good. Make sure you don't rinse it off - it might even help to rub some on your teeth after brushing and leaving it there before bed.
Also, make sure you avoid acid fruit juices, and fizzy drinks (including sugar free) - these can contribute to sensitive teeth .
Reply:Senidine Tooth Paste
Reply:http://us.sensodyne.com/
Reply:There is tooth paste but i dunno what brands you got in your country also try drinking more milk it will strengthen your teeth.
Reply:Sensodyne toothpaste is a lifesaver for me. My teeth were so sensitive I couldn't eat sweets or anything cold, but after a month using that toothpaste three times a day I have almost no pain.
Reply:Sensodyne toothpaste, and I believe Crest has a sensative toothpaste as well. Takes awhile to work, but after using daily your teeth should feel less sensative.
Reply:try bojella on the gums if it hurts or if your teeth are just sensitive try sensodine toothpaste.
Reply:Senidine is clinicly proven to protect against the pain of Sensitive teeth!
Reply:Senbsodyne can help... Also try to avoid drinking coke (or pepsi) cause it damages your teeth. I use to have very sensitive teeth and when I stoped all sodas, my teeth got better...
Reply:Oil of clove`s works,it is the same as your dentist use`s and you can get it from most chemist, keep well, best wishes Shane c.

My teeth are so sensitive all of a sudden?
I cant even drink lemonade cold or bite into a piece of watermelon without that feeling (not as bad a icecream tho) it hasnt always been like this either, why? I used sensitive teeth tooth paste earlier but havent anymore for awhile but it was NEVER this bad??
My teeth are so sensitive all of a sudden?
if you stop using sensitivity toothpaste your teeth will go back to being sensitive. get more toothpaste!
some people just have sensitive teeth, that's just the way it is.
sometimes lots of pop, citrus, acidic things like tomatoes bring out the sensitivity in people. everyone is different.
try some sensitivity toothpaste and if it doesn't go away go and see your dentist to make sure nothing is wrong.
also be sure to avoid baking soda, whitening and tartar control toothpastes. those tend to cause sensitivity as well.
*edit* your teeth are moving, they can be sensitive. just use sensitivity toothpaste and ask your orthodontist about it the next time you go in.
Reply:Are you using any whitening products??? Products like crest white strips etc often cause tooth sensitivity. If not, I would go back to the sensitive toothpaste and see your dentist.
Reply:Make sure you floss, sometimes if you go without flossing too long it can make your gums inflamed and make it painful or uncomfortable to eat things, esp. cold things.
Edit: Sorry didn't see the part about braces, I don't know in that case.
Reply:Well there could be many reasons for this. Okay, first you have to ask yourself, is this a sharp quick pain of a long dull pain. If its a sharp quick pain it may be cause by open dentinal tubules(microscopic canals that run from the outside of the dentin to the nerve inside the tooth). These can be sealed by you dental professional (its not a procedure it only takes a matter of minutes). On the other hand, if the pain is not this it could be because of a cavity (if its a long dull pain). My guess is open dentinal tubules.
Reply:i had this same problem. all of the sudden, my teeth on the upper right of my mouth were all sensetive. turned out to be a cavity.

Painful sensitive teeth would a root canal rid me of this pain?
I have tried everything. My dentist doesn't help either. Recommends sensitive toothpaste which doesn't work. I also tried a sealing treatment at his office and it didn't work. I have 4 teeth and I am in pain almost every day.
Painful sensitive teeth would a root canal rid me of this pain?
You said that you have tried sensitive toothpaste. For this to work you have to use it every time you brush and never use a different toothpaste. If you did this and it still didn't work ask your dentist for a prescription strength fluoride gel. Many times, daily application of a fluoride gel will decrease sensitivity. Yes, a root canal will most likely get rid of the pain. But you must have each tooth crowned after the root canal treatment because the tooth becomes very brittle after taking the nerve tissue out of the tooth. Root canal therapy and a crown will be at least $1500 per tooth depending on where the teeth are in your mouth and where you are located. The fluoride is worth a try before you resort to root canal therapy.
Reply:yes a root canal will stop this pain. It sounds like this is a last resort as it should be when all other options have failed. A root canal takes out the 'root' or nerve of the tooth making it incapable of feeling pain then you will get a crown which is like a fake tooth over the stump of the old tooth.
Reply:It might, but if your dentist wont help you, keep going back, or better yet just get a second opinion. Good luck and hope you feel better!
Reply:I am sorry to say that I was in the same boat as you and they did a root canal on me and said that it would make the pain go away and it DID NOT even though I had no root to feel pain with I could not stand the cold on my teeth and everything else hurt to so I ask the dentist what would make it go away and he said the only thing that would for sure work was to get my teeth pulled and guess what I did I got my plates to be put in the same day that I had my teeth pulled and I have been pain free since BUT I was in so much pain that I never could sleep anymore and it was in my ears so that is why I decided to go that route and it worked. I guess what I am saying is that the amount of pain that you are in is going to determine what action you will take. A root canal will work if you are hurting with just one tooth but all of my top one hurt so I eliminated the problem. I hope that this helps
Reply:Hi! Before you do anything, you should check out a dental discount plan, to help save you money. I am a Regional Sales Director for Ameriplan USA, and our dental plan is only $19.95 per month, and will cover crowns, root canals, etc... You will get anywhere from 30 - 80% off. Well worth the $20 per month!! Also, you are not in any type of contract, so you can cancel at anytime, not that you will want to. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know about it.
Plus, with the dental plan, you also get vision care, chiropractic, as well as prescription coverage too for free! And the $19.95 per month is for the entire household, not just for one person. Okay, I will stop talking now, but I just wanted you to know about it. You can check it out,as well as enroll online at www.mybenefitsplus.com/stacyprince

Are sensitive teeth and sore gums a pregnancy symptom?
I went to the dentist a few months ago and had some fillings done. Everything was fine until recently my gums are swollen and slightly sore and my teeth are sensitive to pressure, hot and cold. I've had other pregnancy symptoms as well such as nausea and increased sense of smell.
I am trying to conceive so pregnancy is entirely possible.
Are sensitive teeth and sore gums a pregnancy symptom?
Yes, definitely. By the time I was 2 months pregnant, I could no longer wear my retainer because it was plastic and it applied pressure to my gums and it made them so sore and bleed. Just make sure you go to the dentist every 6 months and let them know you are pregnant so they take the proper precautions with x-rays. Good luck!
Reply:The only way to know of course is to test, but yes bleeding and sensitive gums can be a pregnancy symptom (usually a bit into the pregnancy) because of the increased blood flow.
Reply:Yes...that might be the problem. My last pregnancy...ohh my gumbs and teeth hurted!!! I hope you get you BFP!!!! Good luck %26amp; god bless!!!!
Reply:Yup, Just make sure to spend alot of time brushing ur gums good or they will get weak. Good Luck!
Reply:Yes. I had a tooth bother me through out my first pregnancy...hot and cold sensitive. Once I had her it stopped.
Reply:Bleeding gums are common in pregnancy as they are more sensitive to the bacteria in your mouth due to all of your hormones. Make sure to floss daily and brush along the gumline to adequately remove plaque (the white film on your teeth that is filled with lovely bacteria) Check out the American Dental Association link below and it should be helpful to answer some pregnancy and it's relation to your oral health questions:
http://ada.org/public/topics/pregnancy_f...
As for your teeth recently becoming sensitive to hot/cold and pressure, I would highly advise calling your dentist and discuss whether or not an evaluation of these symptoms is needed to rule out any more serious condition. The sensitivity may be due to the fillings, but only your dentist will be able to determine for certain what the cause is. Good luck with your dental concerns and I hope you get a BFP pregnancy test!
Reply:yeah sore gums is one of pregnancy symptoms but did you experience the other symptoms like a missed period, nausea and sickness, backaches, cramps and fatigue if yes you ahve to take a test

Mouthwash for sensitive teeth?
I am wondering if there is any mouthwash out there that is supposed to be safe for people with sensitive teeth. The last mouthwash I tried was Listerine Whitening and I think that increased my teeth sensitivity.
Thanks.
Mouthwash for sensitive teeth?
I would suggest you try ACT mouth rinse. I also have sensitive teeth, and my dentist recommended it. My results have been VERY good-- after only 2 weeks use! (by the way, the results will likely be cumulative, so you need to continue use to see optimal results!) Good Luck!
Reply:Some over-the-counter mouthwashes contain acids that can worsen tooth sensitivity if you have exposed dentin (the middle layer of the tooth). The acids further damage the dentin layer of the tooth. If you have dentin sensitivity, ask your dentist about the use of a neutral fluoride solution. I find Tom's of Maine to be really good. You can get it from your local drugstore.

What causes sensitive teeth?
My teeth have been having twinges of pain lately or a twinge of pain when I start drinking some water. I recently started using mouth wash (Listerine) and also a toothpaste (crest with scope) that has the mouth wash in it too. Could this be why my teeth are sensitive?? Should I not be using mouth wash or the toothpaste with scope in it??
What causes sensitive teeth?
Too much sweets, poor oral hygiene, extreme temperature and not going to the dentist for a checkup.
Reply:You may have a cavity forming..
or the enamel is coming off...
Citrus,coffee,soda and a bunch
of other stuff can cause ur enamel to
come off your teeth there for leaving
you with no protection.
Reply:soda friut drinks orange juice anything sugar really and if having it alot can cause it... try drinking from a straw when you drink it lessen the pain because its not directly touching your teeth also use toothpaste for senstive teeth alot of brands make it
Reply:Use a "soft" toothbrush. My dentist told me that "hard" toothbrush's should be banned because they cause irrepairable damage. A soft may take time to adjust to, but it does clean your teeth properly! Over here in Australia there's a toothpaste called Sensodyne, don't know if you can get it where you are, but its great for people with your problem.
Reply:The following is a list of causes of tooth sensitivity:
- TOOTHBRUSH ABRASION, occurs when an electric or manual brush is used with too much pressure, incorrect technique or going over the same area too long.
- PULP (NERVE) DYING/DEAD, can be sensitive or painful to just about anything, but heat sensitivity is the best indicator in the absence of swelling of the gum.
- DENTIN EXPOSURE, can be caused by toothbrush abrasion, a chipped tooth, a cracked/chipped/missing filling, a wear facet from grinding your teeth. It means there is an area of enamel missing and you have exposed the next layer of the crown known as the dentin. It is the final layer before you reach the pulp.
- WEAR FACET, is a smooth bevel or round indentation in the surface of tooth caused by grinding of the teeth. Left untreated, the dentin becomes exposed. Usually sensitive to sweats, acidic foods, biting on seed-like consistancy food...
- CRACKED ENAMEL, hurts when you bite on precisely the right spot (where the actual crack is). Because we don't always put the same pressure on the same spot every time we eat, this type of pain seems like it is on and off.
- COLD SENSITIVE, while annoying, is for the most part normal.
- HOT SENSITIVE, is a strong indicator the nerve is dying
- SWEET SENSITIVE, can be from decay, dentin exposure, toothbrush abrasion, leaky filling/porcelain crown
- ACIDIC FOOD SENSITIVITY, similar causes as sweet sensitivity
- PAIN UPON BITING, can be caused by a crack in the tooth, a periodontal infection, deep decay, abscess, cracked filling
- PAIN WITH BRACES/RETAINERS, is caused when there is pressure applied to a tooth. The ligament that cushions the root in the bone socket is being stretched on one side and compressed on the other. This is normal unless the pain is extreme requiring pain killers.
Gum and periodontal disease and the plaque and tartar deposits associated with them can cause sensitivity and/or pain.
In order to treat sensitivity properly and effectively, you first have to know WHY your teeth are sensitive because the treatment options are numerous and very specific for each problem. Notice that similar symptoms can be present for very different problems. This makes it difficult for some clinicians to make the correct diagnosis. The trick, therefore, is finding a dentist or hygienist who is skilled in diagnostics. Intuition cannot be taught.
Reply:sensitive teeth is due to the thinning of enamel %26amp; nearing the pulp or nerve. There are many causes. General attrision or wearing of teeth due to normal function, its usally due to age. Decay of teeth. Erriosion due to acid reflux or taking a lot of citrus %26amp; areated drinks. Abbression, due to wrong tooth buushing. The temperery measures are just using desensiting tooth paste conating potassiun Nitrate.
